Australia's Alex Cudlin has just returned to his home in Australia after another successful outing with his new team, QERT suzuki. After announcing his signing with QERT Suzuki for the 2010 World Endurance Championships and the Qatar International Road Racing Championships, Alex began in good form by capturing 2nd position in his debut ride with the team 3 weeks ago. Last weekend, Alex again competed in the Qatar International Road Race Championships, hoping to continue his podium run from 3 weeks earlier. After qualifying on the front row, he then raced in two 15 lap races to finish 2nd in both races. "This has been another satisfying weekend for me. To spend time on board my new bike is great, but to finish in a podium position in both races is even better. Its been 5 or 6 years since I have raced sprint races and each time I go on the track my speed and agility on the bike is improving. Each time I race here I am feeling more comfortable, and I know a win is just around the corner" said Alex.
After missing the first round of the Qatar International Road Racing Championship in December, Alex is chasing much needed Championship points and gradually climbing up the championship ladder, now sitting in a comfortable 4th position. After just 3 races and with 4 more rounds remaining, the Championship win is still an achievable goal. Alex and team QERT Suzuki are using the time in the Qatar championships to prepare themselves for the bigger challenge of defending the 2010 World Endurance Superstock Championship, which begins soon. "Racing in this championship is perfect for our team to prepare for the World Championships. Obviously that is our main goal, so to be racing every other weekend in the lead up to the Le Mans 24 hour will hopefully put us in a great position for that challenge" said Cudlin. Alex will be in Australia for the next week, before he heads back overseas for some promotional work in Lebanon. He will then head back to Qatar to contest Round 4 of the Qatar Championships on the 26/27th of March.
